Enjoyed a fabulous weekend in Silverdale for the launch of the Watch The Birdie Anthology at RSPB Leighton Moss. The project was conceived and edited by Rebecca Jane Bilkau, who did a brilliant job of organising the event with help from her husband Michael.
The anthology contains poems about the 67 birds on the RSPB’s Red list of endangered species.
I felt honoured to take part and read my poem ‘Skylark In Suspense’. There were so many excellent readers from around the UK and it was great to see so many familiar faces and get chance to meet lots of other poets whose work I’ve long admired.
Can’t believe I didn’t know this was on. Would’ve come down if I’d known you were reading!

Robert, I so wish I’d thought to let you know. It would have been great to meet up. I’m sure we’ll go back to Silverdale/RSPB Leighton Moss before long, so maybe we can meet up for a chat then?
